Registering a heavy vehicle or heavy trailer over 4.5t GVM (or trailers over 750kg ATM without a draft regulation sheet) in QLD? An HVRAS inspection measures dimensions, weight ratings, axle spacings and VIN details.
HVRAS stands for Heavy Vehicle Registration Assessment Scheme. It is an inspection required by Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) to inspect and verify vehicle parameters prior to registering a heavy vehicle or trailer in Queensland.
Unlike a mechanical safety certificate, the HVRAS inspection inspects and records vehicle dimensions, overall length, width, height, overhangs, axle spacings, tyre limits and gross vehicle mass (GVM) or aggregate trailer mass (ATM) ratings.
